The above is the yellow markings on a MRT platform okay! As per all mornings/evenings, it is quite packed (denoted by black circles representing commuters) but MOST people still have the decency to stand behind the yellow line or at least stand on the yellow line. Most of the time, i would miss a train just to be the first in line to enter a train, because then, chances of getting a seat is higher. So the green circle is me.
There are already questions like hmm when should you start inching forward into a train.
- The moment the doors open
- After 1 or 2 people step out of the train
- After everybody who wants to get out has done so
Due to pressure with the other commuters behind me in the 'queue', i mostly choose option number 2, which is to allow a few commuters to alight first, delay as long as i can, before forging my way into the train. Once, i tried to let more people alight first, only to hear the people behind me clucking their tongues and cursing me under their breaths. Because the kinder i am to alighting passengers, the more cruel i am to boarding passengers like myself. Wtf then how, liddat?
Let people alight first will die meh. I mean, when we want to board a train, we push through hoping to find a seat. When we wish to alight a train, we turn around and lash out (or mutter curses) at the people pushing their way in before we have a chance to alight. Singapore. *shakes head* However, i kind of understand. Because if one doesn't push, he/she might never get into a train in that crowd. Helpless in that kinda situation.
But that's not the point of my entry today. It is the fat, huge red circle representing certain buay paiseh aunties that i cannot stand. While everyone is queueing, when people 1st in line (like me, in green circle) are thanking their lucky stars and people 2nd and 3rd in line are secretly a little pissed at the ones 1st in line and think "how i wish i can push her away!", some rude auntie will happily meander through the crowd and stand right smack in the middle of the forbidden zone, as if the yellow lines are useless stickers. The worse thing is, after these aunties commit this seemingly brave act, a group to sheepish people conveniently form a gang behind her (pink small circles).
So when the train doors open, the aunties barge in, the alighting commuters would naturally roll their eyes and steer towards left or right, which is where the early birds are standing! Like me! Wah very angry but too shy to behave like them! Then how! Lose loh! :(
I tried cold staring them but to no avail. These people are immuned to dirty looks thrown in their direction!
Really a case of "if you cant fight them, join them"? But joining them is so uncouth.
Okay lah obviously the Paint image above was drawn by me using laptop k because i could not find my mouse. I had wanted to whip out my phone for pictures but i am afraid i'd get sued or the aunty in question would violently snatch my phone away from me and dump it into the MRT track below the platform.
I am so sleepy please forgive my exaggerated expression in this post.
Goodnight world!
