the difference

yesterday was my aunt's birthday.
i bought her a slice of cake for $2.50
she was overjoyed.

today is my mom's birthday.
i bought her a phone, 3 weeks ago.
because she mentioned that her phone's speaker is a little problematic.
i kept the phone in my cupcoard for 3 whole weeks! was bursting with excitement.
carefully tied a pretty ribbon on the box this morning, and hid the present somewhere she would chance upon it
she was more interested in the TV then her new phone
asked me to open the box, looked awhile, and just continued eyeballing her TV.

why the difference?

this is sort of the first time i am so excited at a present for someone because this is the first time i picked and paid for the present myself. not like it is cheap either. i'm a little disappointed. next year buy her hand cream enough lah. she won't notice the difference anyway. sigh.
