nonsense

omg! blogger is working fine now! finally! i can upload pictures now!

but now i am too tired to do a photo-entry.

the uploading can kill. fb is easier but there are photos i don want found on fb. i dunno why hahahahha. anyhow, okay tmr afternoon if i manage to reach home a few hours before dinner i will deliver the photo-diarrhoea as promised!! *hits chest in mock brotherly fashion*

tmr is friday, the last weekday of this week. one week just whizzed past like that! i don even feel rested at all! there hasn't been a day that i woke up with nothing to do!

just today, i spent about 5 hours packing (actually throwing) my things (away). i am now proud to announce that i now own my first bookshelf! so eggciting, because i have always wanted to own a bookshelf filled with books. of course my own study room toooo. i hereby produce a photo of my new beloved bookshelf! *cues music*

...
...
...

no lah i bluff you one, told you i'm lazy to upload photos.

but yeah my study table now rocks too because i added an air purifier to accompany me through lonely nights of essay-churning. i added peach essense into the water! smells peach-ey now. i cross my fingers and hope that i won't have to remove the air purifier to make more space after a few weeks of the new semester. hee hee.

tmr will be a busy day.
sat too.
sun too.
mon too.
tues too.

hmmm that's about as far as my brain can remember for now.

sorry i haven been updating this space as regularly as i used to. my bed + aircon is just so much more inviting.

IJ students who found my blog through my FB account, you're totally stressing me out because now i have to blog responsibly HAHA what a joke i was never a responsible blogger. Just keep the content here to yourself okay! Study hard too. Haha.

So i'm officially having my well-deserved break before school starts in 2 weeks' time. Life's been good. I'm having fun sleeping. Haha.

nothing at all

ROAR ROAR ROAR!

feeling very hyped up today because... TGIF!
tsk few things make me happy now, except the promise of more time for more sleep

i finished reading Holes by Louis Sachar today, like finally... it's a short novel but hell i kept having to set it down after only a few pages into it because there is NO time to sit down to read properly nowadays oh woe is me. it's for my P3 kids i hope they can understand the book. i think they do lah, smart kids.

when can i start on my Phillip Pullman! like never! it's due soon wtf wtf wtf. and i haven read Angels and Demons.

but never mind! there is hope! last week of internship. one more week to go and i'm done! then it's batam and more sleep and more shopping and more reading and more everything, before i start a new semester and haha then i'll come back here to complain about school again.

do singaporeans thrive in retarded repetition?

anyhows, i'm looking forward to a great weekend. ikea, harry potter, tampines 1, and hopefully more rest.

Is Burberry using Emma Watson to break into the teenage market? Hmmm.

just because i feel like rambling

i know, i'm constantly here.

staying home 2 days is no mean feat. not that i have nothing to do, but that i consciously choose to not do the things i'm supposed to do.

a girl on MC ought to sleep, read her favourite books, mags, watch tv, nap, and do whatever nonsensical things she wishes to. including blogging, facebook-ing, twittering and msn-ing.

which reminds me. i noticed that people talk less on msn now. it's either facebook or twitter now. i read off the net that somebody had to twitter a friend she emailed just to inform him of the incoming email so that he can read and reply asap. honestly, wad's the world coming to?

in the past, when inspiration hits me, i may have some clever words to say. if they were short, msn nick. if they were longer, blog. now, i have to debate if i wanna log in to msn, twitter, facebook, or blogger to type that damn line. haha it's quite amusing really.

i had planned to sleep till at least 11am today. but a neighbour decided that today is the day she wants to dril her walls and do some renovation, so at 9.30am i was up, blurry-eyed and cursing mildly. The noise was so bombastic that when touched my windowsills and walls, i could feel the tremors. the lizards and other micro-organisms living inside our walls must have gotten a rude shock. serve them right though. go away awful insects!

yeah so anyway now apart from the worsening-again throat, i have a light headache i'm hoping it's not migrane. not now dammit.

the medicine makes me wanna sleep but the noise makes me wanna kill my neighbour. the headache makes me wanna stay in bed, the medicine makes me wanna drink water. the cycle continues.

the end.

being socially responsible

contrast title of this post to the pervious one. such irony!

today i paid (literally) a visit to this interesting doctor again. nice pun haha.

With internship and tuition demands, i've been keeping late nights. As usual, only a matter of time before my body breaks down.

given 2 days MC though i feel i only need a day. am told to stay at home to be "socially responsible". given the current H1N1 situation, even if i'm not H1N1 positive, i'd still infect people around me with other flu viruses that will cause them to have to stay home like me otherwise there'll be too many people with flu running around and it'll be difficult to single out H1N1 suspected cases. oh really? it works this way?

so anyway i welcome the rest.

but tmr is the date of my lecture that i've been preparing for. the first lecturing in my life. granted, i have given tutorials on lts, standing on podium before, but it's not the same! the mike, visualizer, ppt, and the sheer number of audience.

but i have to give it up. you know there are many unspoken things an intern has to tahan, and one of the things is the knowledge that they are not very important. more on that in the future, or maybe not. anyway, i'm given 2 days MC, my doc refuses to dispense just one day, so if i were to appear in school tmr, even if i pass the gate-check, my MC will reveal that i'm supposed to be home for 2 days, and hence prove my "social irresponsibility".

so i'm staying home tmr, giving up my lecture slot, and the days of research and work of collating the information and presenting them in ways that will be understood by the students. sent over all i've done, hopefully it helps the teacher taking over the lecture.

somehow, i feel defeated. this post is indirectly linked to the previous one. go figure.

for the record, i'm not running a fever. just some swollen tonsils and blocked nose. oh plus a very tired mind.

societal expectations that come with age

in nursery school, if you're angry at a friend, you can shout, flial your limbs around and knock the said person down. you can make a fool of yourself because at that age, no one will judge you.

in primary school, if you're angry at a classmate, you still can do pretty much the same things you did to show your anger. maybe not the knocking down people down part because you will face disciplinary actions, but the expressive shouting is still permissible.

in secondary school, if you're angry at a friend, you can cry in indignance, try emotional blackmail, gather your friends over to "your side", even get into fights because the rebellious teen in you does not give two hoots about detention and what-nots.

in junior colleage, if you're angry at a schoolmate, you blog nasty things about the person; you either make it publicly known that she stepped on your toes, or you mask it well enough, but still think nasty thoughts. The pretense starts here. Oh maybe in secondary school too, for some.

in unversity, if you're angry at a coursemate, you talk to your friends about it and let it go, because you've ackowledged the fact that there will always be idiots who piss you off, so all you can do is steer clear of the person and move on. Otherwise you'd be as childish as them. hmm well some people really are as childish. depends on what sort of person you are.

in working life, if you're angry at a colleague, all you can bloody do is to suck it up, hold your head high and walk away from the nasty situation. Much as you want to, you are expected to not stoop to her level. A major test of your maturity and endurance.

i managed to do it though quite easily in fact. it sickens me to observe how tame, almost pallid, i've become. so in the end i am less upset at her, more upset at myself and how i'm handling it. yet proud of myself too. what a mess.

Let's eat apples

It's now 5.30pm in the staffroom. Today is friday.

Few days ago, it was staff welfare day or smth, so everyone was given an apple. Thing is, most of us were too busy to find time to munch on the apple. As i'm typing this, my apple is still sitting on my table. Looks juicy. Hmm.

5 mins ago i heard smth that inspired this post. A teacher, after finishing her work for today, went to wash her apple and finally took a bite.

Another teacher said, "Oh! The apple!"

"You also haven eat ah? Come let's all eat togeter now. If not put here till monday rot already. Come back on monday also wil forget to eat."

There were about 20 of us left in the staffroom. I'm sure all those who heard, including me, at least took a look at their apples.

Okay bye.
